Spectators: 7215 (Terracing: 5412, Seating: 1660, VIP seats: 143) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Celso Souto got the match started through his kick off. When Igor Arce came up free with the goalie in the 3rd minute, the Metropolitano SC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Igor Arce couldn't finish the play. Fernando Amaral was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 5th minute. Metropolitano SC's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. An unexpectedly hard shot by Celso Souto in the 12th minute of play forced Metropolitano SC's goalkeeper André Luiz Matorin to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Celso Souto received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 22nd minute. André Luiz Matorin tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. André Luiz Matorin showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Dráuzio Ceresso, who was totally free with the ball in the 23rd minute. In the 26th minute, Cipriano Barros hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Formosa's Gláuber Miranda played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jano Cunha in the 29th minute of play. 37 minutes into the game, Metropolitano SC's Agostinho Vander nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Gláuber Miranda made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-0. A collision led to Metropolitano SC getting a freekick after 42 minutes play. Durvalino Linares hit a great ball. Metropolitano SC were awarded a corner in the 49th minute after Formosa's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Durvalino Linares took the corner.

In the 53rd minute the ball was on its way in behind Metropolitano SC's goalkeeper André Luiz Matorin, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Dráuzio Ceresso struck a weak shot in the 55th minute. André Luiz Matorin didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Formosa. Igor Arce recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 62nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. André Luiz Matorin showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Celso Souto in the 68th minute of the match. Jano Cunha fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 71st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gláuber Miranda having to interfere. 74 minutes into the match, Dráuzio Ceresso notched a goal, 2-1, to the right of Metropolitano SC's André Luiz Matorin. André Luiz Matorin was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jano Cunha in the 83rd minute of play forced Formosa's goalkeeper Gláuber Miranda to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Gláuber Miranda took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Agostinho Vander, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Agostinho Vander in the 96th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Gláuber Miranda saved Formosa from getting behind.
