Spectators: 7017 (Terracing: 5392, Seating: 1575, VIP seats: 50) Humberto de Castro made the kick off and thus started the match. When Humberto de Castro came up free with the goalie in the 4th minute, the Manairama fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Humberto de Castro couldn't finish the play. Humberto de Castro struck a weak shot in the 6th minute. Gláuber Miranda didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Manairama. Geovani Monteiro came out of the goal in the 8th minute to try and stop a shot by Formosa's Celso Souto. But to his dismay, Celso Souto quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. Dráuzio Ceresso fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 14th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Geovani Monteiro having to interfere. Geovani Monteiro made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Celso Souto in the 15th minute of play. Geovani Monteiro took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Celso Souto, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Gláuber Miranda made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Humberto de Castro in the 21st minute of play. Dráuzio Ceresso received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 27th minute. Geovani Monteiro tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Humberto de Castro in the 42nd minute of play forced Formosa's goalkeeper Gláuber Miranda to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Geovani Monteiro showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. After the first half Formosa were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Celso Souto was the one to do the kick off. In the 51st minute of the match, Dráuzio Ceresso got a very nice opportunity to score, but Geovani Monteiro was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. When Erivaldo de Godoi fell near the penalty area in the 52nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Manairama's protests and gave Erivaldo de Godoi a yellow card for diving instead. After a rather tough play, Manairama's Erivaldo de Godoi got a free kick in the 52nd minute. Humberto de Castro sent away a hard shot on goal in the 56th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 62nd play minutes Celso Souto shot 0-2, a short shot which went by Geovani Monteiro and just under the crossbar into goal. Celso Souto's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Geovani Monteiro read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 67th minute of play. If Humberto de Castro had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 75th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 77 played minutes Formosa got a freekick which was hit by Eusébio Paiva. After some fancy dribbling in the 78th minute, Laerte Fonseca managed to get in a good position for a shot. Manairama's supporters rose to their feet, but Laerte Fonseca was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Gláuber Miranda breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Geovani Monteiro showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Celso Souto in the 80th minute of the match. After having played for 82 minutes, Humberto de Castro managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Manairama's supporters crossed their fingers, but Humberto de Castro was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 85th minute, Hélio Coutinho got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. If Humberto de Castro had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 88th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Gláuber Miranda showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Laerte Fonseca in the 91st minute of the match. Gláuber Miranda showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Laerte Fonseca, who was totally free with the ball in the 93rd minute. The Formosa players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
