An unexpectedly hard shot by Alfredo Cabral in the 9th minute of play forced Veneciano's goalkeeper Oscar Lira to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Murillo Veloso made an important save on a dangerous shot by Claudinei Alcântara in the 10th minute. After 10 minutes, Erivaldo França mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Ibitiguaia and the Veneciano players grew even worse after the yellow card. When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Juarês Simão made a kick off. Murillo Veloso showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Juarês Simão in the 51st minute of the match. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Murillo Veloso showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. In the 54th minute Samuel do Vale shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Murillo Veloso saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Samuel do Vale scored 1-0 in the 55th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Murillo Veloso, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Luiz Eduardo Aguiar could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 62nd minute of the match, but Oscar Lira made a huge save. Veneciano's supporters rose to their feet, but Aloísio de Sousa was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Murillo Veloso breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 91 minutes into the match, Alfredo Cabral notched a goal, 1-3, to the right of Veneciano's Oscar Lira. Oscar Lira was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. The Veneciano fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Ibitiguaia were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
