Rômulo Koehler was extremely unlucky when he, in the 13th minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. Perivaldo Brasil kicked well hit freekick during the 14th minute of the match. After a rather tough play, Atlético Gaúcho's Rômulo Koehler got a free kick in the 16th minute. If Edu Miranda had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 17th minute. When Olavo Reis in the 44th play minute got the chance to kick a hard shot on goal from short distance neither the defense or Jeremias Loureiro kept up with the ball and suddenly the score was 2-2 when the ball slipped into goal inside the left pole. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

Atlético Gaúcho's supporters were highly satisfied with the result. They cheered their team of the pitch, having watched them win a very even match.
