The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Pedro das Neves was the one to do the kick off. Cauã Porto took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Pedro das Neves, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When Olavo Reis came up free with the goalie in the 60th minute, the Atlético Gaúcho fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Olavo Reis couldn't finish the play. After some careless play in the Águia Sport Club defense, Olavo Reis kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Antônio de Medeiros. The Águia Sport Club fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Antônio de Medeiros should have stopped the shot. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 93 minutes into the game, Águia Sport Club's Ernesto Prestes nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Cauã Porto made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-2. Atlético Gaúcho's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
