After some fancy dribbling in the 3rd minute, Zé Augusto de Moraes managed to get in a good position for a shot. Atlético Céu Azul's supporters rose to their feet, but Zé Augusto de Moraes was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Edgar Munhoz breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After a defensive mix-up in Movimento Browniano E.C.'s zone, Leonardo Peres stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Edgar Munhoz came out of the goal and Leonardo Peres tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 18 minutes into the match, Movimento Browniano E.C.'s goalkeeper Edgar Munhoz had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Leonardo Peres. Atlético Céu Azul's Aníbal Xavier shoveled away a really nice long shot in the 19th minute of play. The shot was stopped by Edgar Munhoz but with some difficulty. In the 26th minute, Dedé Donatello hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 31st minute, Leonardo Peres fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Edgar Munhoz, passed just outside the right post. After having played for 36 minutes, Leonardo Peres managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Atlético Céu Azul's supporters crossed their fingers, but Leonardo Peres was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Edgar Munhoz was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Zé Augusto de Moraes showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-0 in the 38 minute of play. 42 minutes into the match, Atlético Céu Azul's Zé Augusto de Moraes sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Edgar Munhoz narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Olívio Meira recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 43rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Zé Augusto de Moraes to make the kick off. In the 53rd minute, Leonardo Peres ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Edgar Munhoz was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-0. 60 minutes into the game, Zé Augusto de Moraes cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 3-0. Edgar Munhoz was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Edgar Munhoz showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Leonardo Peres, who was totally free with the ball in the 64th minute. Leonardo Peres struck a weak shot in the 69th minute. Edgar Munhoz didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Atlético Céu Azul. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Zé Augusto de Moraes in the 71st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Edgar Munhoz prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Dedé Donatello kicked well hit freekick during the 73rd minute of the match. Leonardo Peres received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 75th minute. Edgar Munhoz tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Zé Augusto de Moraes might have been able to make a better finish in the 77th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Edgar Munhoz. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Zé Augusto de Moraes ran back to his position shaking his head. Zé Augusto de Moraes took the ball and in the 77 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Edgar Munhoz. Edgar Munhoz dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 4-0. Zé Augusto de Moraes sent away a hard shot on goal in the 80th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Edgar Munhoz didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Leonardo Peres went, in the 82nd minute, to the upper right corner, 5-0 was the resulting score. 86 minutes into the game, Atlético Céu Azul's Zé Augusto de Moraes nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Edgar Munhoz made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 6-0. Edgar Munhoz showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Zé Augusto de Moraes, who was totally free with the ball in the 91st minute.
