Breno Paranaense took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Humberto Vale, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Humberto Vale might have been able to make a better finish in the 20th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Breno Paranaense. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Humberto Vale ran back to his position shaking his head. Yuri Maciel hit a great freekick 24 minutes into the match. Clube de Regatas Brasil's Eusébio Costa got a good chance for a goal in the 25th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After 26 played minutes Ibaretama AD got a freekick which was hit by Yuri Maciel. If Eusébio Costa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 27th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 31 minutes of play, Clube de Regatas Brasil's Vânderson da Rocha made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Breno Paranaense was left in no man's land by his defense there! 35 minutes into the match, Ibaretama AD's goal looked a bit too open when Humberto Vale came free, but Breno Paranaense reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in Ibaretama AD's zone, Humberto Vale stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Breno Paranaense came out of the goal and Humberto Vale tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Mané Baptista's late challenge caught a Clube de Regatas Brasil's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Mané Baptista helped the player get up and apologised. In the 39th match minute, Ibaretama AD was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Mané Baptista to maneuver through the defense. After some careless play in the Ibaretama AD defense, Eusébio Costa kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Breno Paranaense. The Ibaretama AD fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Breno Paranaense should have stopped the shot. 46 minutes into the match, Clube de Regatas Brasil's goal looked a bit too open when Zé Paulo Faria came free, but José Augusto Freire reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Zé Paulo Faria to make the kick off. Nuno de Sena kicked well hit freekick during the 50th minute of the match. José Augusto Freire showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Zé Paulo Faria in the 53rd minute of the match. When Humberto Vale came up free with the goalie in the 61st minute, the Clube de Regatas Brasil fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Humberto Vale couldn't finish the play. Rafael de Sena kicked well hit freekick during the 66th minute of the match. Clube de Regatas Brasil's José Augusto Freire played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Álvaro Borges in the 69th minute of play. After 76 minutes, Humberto Vale made it 0-3 with a short kick to the right side. Ibaretama AD's Breno Paranaense tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Eusébio Costa received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 80th minute. Breno Paranaense tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Humberto Vale fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 83rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Breno Paranaense having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Ibaretama AD's Dé Trigo got a free kick in the 85th minute. After recieving a nice pass, Clube de Regatas Brasil's Rafael de Sena tried to score from far away in the 86th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. After 88 minutes, Humberto Vale mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Clube de Regatas Brasil and the Ibaretama AD players grew even worse after the yellow card. Clube de Regatas Brasil played a much better game than Ibaretama AD and deserved their victory. The Ibaretama AD players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
