Spectators: 7082 (Terracing: 5414, Seating: 1660, VIP seats: 8) EC São Gabriel's Jerônimo de Moraes started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 6th minute of the match Anselmo Alves sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Ciro Galvão skillfully saved the ball. Ciro Galvão made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Chico Lopez in the 8th minute of play. Ciro Galvão stood somewhat misplaced when Dráusio de Lima came free in front of goal and shot 1-0 to the left of him in the 10 minute. When Tiago Vargas fell near the penalty area in the 13th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored EC São Gabriel's protests and gave Tiago Vargas a yellow card for diving instead. Jerônimo de Moraes received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 21st minute. Natanael Quadros tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Natanael Quadros came out of the goal in the 22nd minute to try and stop a shot by EC São Gabriel's Jerônimo de Moraes. But to his dismay, Jerônimo de Moraes quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1. In the 26thth minute of the game Jerônimo de Moraes who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Ribeirinha's Natanael Quadros was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. If Chico Lopez had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 33rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Célio Lopes fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 37th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Natanael Quadros having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jerônimo de Moraes in the 45th minute of play forced Ribeirinha's goalkeeper Natanael Quadros to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 47 minutes into the game, Marcos Trevisan cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-2. Natanael Quadros was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 1-2 lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Chico Lopez stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Chico Lopez fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 53rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ciro Galvão having to interfere. Valdir Amaral kicked well hit freekick during the 54th minute of the match. Ciro Galvão showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Dráusio de Lima, who was totally free with the ball in the 55th minute. With a little luck, Ribeirinha's Natanael Quadros got control of the ball when Célio Lopes tried to sneak it across the goal line. The supporters of EC São Gabriel booed when Ribeirinha was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 58 match minutes in a wonderful position. Diguinho Vergílio didn't get a good kick on the ball. Ribeirinha's Natanael Quadros played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Adelino Lara in the 73rd minute of play. Ribeirinha's Natanael Quadros proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 76th minute of the match, managed to save Ribeirinha from getting a goal against them. Natanael Quadros made a fantastic save in the 86th minute, when Jerônimo de Moraes sent off a good shot on target. In the 88th minute, Adelino Lara got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal.
