After 34 minutes of play, EC São Gabriel's Jerônimo de Moraes made it 1-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Décio Britto was left in no man's land by his defense there! After some fancy dribbling in the 37th minute, Célio Lopes managed to get in a good position for a shot. EC São Gabriel's supporters rose to their feet, but Célio Lopes was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Décio Britto breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Ciro Galvão showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Walmir Koehler in the 39th minute of the match. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 2-2 after a close first half.

If Jerônimo de Moraes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 53rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Décio Britto was left in no man's land by his defense there! For all the effort they put into the match, the Máquina FC players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for EC São Gabriel.
