EC São Gabriel's Adelino Lara got a good chance for a goal in the 13th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Laerte Brito took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jerônimo de Moraes, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Jerônimo de Moraes in the 20th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Laerte Brito saved Los Angeles Galax from getting behind. Laerte Brito showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Adelino Lara in the 23rd minute of the match. If Arthur Nogueira had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 27th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 30 played minutes EC São Gabriel got a freekick which was hit by Tiago Vargas. Jerônimo de Moraes received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 34th minute. Los Angeles Galax's Laerte Brito played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jerônimo de Moraes in the 61st minute of play. Los Angeles Galax's Arthur Nogueira got a good chance for a goal in the 63rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The audience was convinced that Jerônimo de Moraes's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Laerte Brito was relentless in the 66th minute of the game. Ciro Galvão showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Perivaldo Nóbrega, who was totally free with the ball in the 88th minute. 90 minutes into the match, Arthur Nogueira had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Ciro Galvão. EC São Gabriel's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Arthur Nogueira was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-0. For all the effort they put into the match, the EC São Gabriel players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Los Angeles Galax.
