Paulinho da Costa hit a great freekick 19 minutes into the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cido Maranhense in the 27th minute of play forced EC CANTAREIRA's goalkeeper Kaká Koehler to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 29 minutes had been played when some careless play by EC CANTAREIRA's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. After a rather tough play, Vasco da Gama's Bruno Guimarães got a free kick in the 64th minute. The supporters of Vasco da Gama booed when EC CANTAREIRA was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 66 match minutes in a wonderful position. Cássio Garcia didn't get a good kick on the ball. Cláudio Meira, 67 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal.
