The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Gláuber Linares during the 16th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. A collision led to Chute Certo FC getting a freekick after 16 minutes play. Gláuber Linares hit a great ball. If Breno de Sousa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 18th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Gilberto de Lima could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 22nd minute of the match, but Dudu Toledo made a huge save. Atlético Salvador's defense didn't have a chance, in the 24th minute, when Gilson Pena scored to the left of an out of position Dudu Toledo, making the score, 1-0. A collision led to Atlético Salvador getting a freekick after 27 minutes play. Frédson Vidal hit a great ball. Chute Certo FC's Roberto Branco couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 28th minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Atlético Salvador. Gilson Pena sent away a hard shot on goal in the 30th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 36th match minute, Atlético Salvador was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Valdir Neves to maneuver through the defense. In the 38th minute, Roberto Branco sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Atlético Salvador's Dudu Toledo didn't even have to move. A collision led to Chute Certo FC getting a freekick after 41 minutes play. Frédson Fontes hit a great ball. Marcel Leal fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 42nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Juan Veloso having to interfere. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The wind increased when Gilson Pena made the kick off in the second half. After 53 played minutes Atlético Salvador got a freekick which was hit by Matheus Tavares. 54 minutes into the match, Roberto Branco notched a goal, 2-0, to the right of Atlético Salvador's Dudu Toledo. Dudu Toledo was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Atlético Salvador's Breno de Sousa got a good chance for a goal in the 61st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Juan Veloso made an important save on a dangerous shot by Breno de Sousa in the 63rd minute. Gilberto de Lima struck a weak shot in the 65th minute. Marcel Leal received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 82nd minute. Juan Veloso tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Marcel Leal had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 86th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 90th minute, Atlético Salvador's Frédson Vidal seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Frédson Vidal the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of Atlético Salvador protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Frédson Vidal had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 89th minute of the game. One of Atlético Salvador:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Chute Certo FC:s goal. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Chute Certo FC fans cheered their team off the field, for while Atlético Salvador had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
