Manfredo Loureiro fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 33rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Oswaldo de Amaral having to interfere. Genílson Ribeiro made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Douglas Mello in the 39th minute of play. Fred Santana kicked well hit freekick during the 40th minute of the match. If Manfredo Loureiro had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 44th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. EspartaFC's Genílson Ribeiro played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Fred Santana in the 46th minute of play. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Douglas Mello made a kick off. An unexpectedly hard shot by Douglas Mello in the 53rd minute of play forced EspartaFC's goalkeeper Genílson Ribeiro to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Fred Santana fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 57th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Genílson Ribeiro having to interfere. If Fred Santana had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 62nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. EspartaFC's Genílson Ribeiro proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 65th minute of the match, managed to save EspartaFC from getting a goal against them. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. A collision led to Furia Tricolor getting a freekick after 91 minutes play. Reginaldo Pimenta hit a great ball. Oswaldo de Amaral took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ronaldinho do Nascimento, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. For all the effort they put into the match, the Furia Tricolor players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for EspartaFC.
