After some careless play in the Mimosos defense, Douglas Mello kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Luís Bezerra. The Mimosos fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Luís Bezerra should have stopped the shot. Fred Santana blasted a shot towards the goal in the 20th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Luís Bezerra having to make a save. The audience was convinced that Fred Santana's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Luís Bezerra was relentless in the 24th minute of the game. Almir Sabóia fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 26th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Oswaldo de Amaral having to interfere. Luís Bezerra took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Douglas Mello, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Douglas Mello in the 40th minute of play forced Mimosos's goalkeeper Luís Bezerra to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 41st match minute, Furia Tricolor was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Haroldo Mandrak to maneuver through the defense. Disappointed in the 0-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Douglas Mello made a kick off. Douglas Mello recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 54th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Hermínio Campidelis fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 58th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Oswaldo de Amaral having to interfere. Gaston Balesio received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 59th minute. Oswaldo de Amaral tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 62 minutes into the match, Furia Tricolor 's goal looked a bit too open when Gaston Balesio came free, but Oswaldo de Amaral reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Raí de Sousa hit a great freekick 63 minutes into the match. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Gaston Balesio in the 64th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Oswaldo de Amaral prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Hermínio Campidelis received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 67th minute. After 70 minutes of play, Mimosos's Almir Sabóia made it 1-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. When the referee blew the final whistle jeers and boos were heard from the home team's supporters. They were angered to see Mimosos lose a match they had controlled from the kick-off.
