Genílson Ribeiro breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. When Walmir Rosado came up free with the goalie in the 29th minute, the Corinthians Z fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Walmir Rosado couldn't finish the play. Corinthians Z's supporters crossed their fingers, but Luizinho Trancoso was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 41st minute, Luizinho Trancoso managed to get in a good position for a shot. An unexpectedly hard shot by Pedrinho Arósio in the 91st minute of play forced EspartaFC's goalkeeper Genílson Ribeiro to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Genílson Ribeiro made a fantastic save in the 99th minute, when Luizinho Trancoso sent off a good shot on target. The EspartaFC support was delighted with a win in a match that could easily have ended differently.
