The referee ignored Heraclito AD's protests and gave Dedé Gonçalves a yellow card for diving instead. Dedé Gonçalves hit a great freekick 4 minutes into the match. 7 minutes into the match, Heraclito AD's goal looked a bit too open when Arnaldo de Godoi came free, but Simão Vale reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 10 minutes into the game, Arnaldo de Godoi cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Simão Vale was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Simão Vale made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Amílton Sá in the 13th minute of play. Arnaldo de Godoi sent away a hard shot on goal in the 14th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Kléber Almeida scored 0-2 in the 17th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Simão Vale, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. After a defensive mix-up in Hugos Arts Club's zone, Luís Eduardo Jacinto stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Adrianinho Vander came out of the goal and Luís Eduardo Jacinto tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 34thth minute of the game Arnaldo de Godoi who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Heraclito AD's Simão Vale was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. If Arnaldo de Godoi had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 35th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The audience thought a goal was coming when Luís Eduardo Jacinto got free with Adrianinho Vander in the 48th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Disappointed in the 0-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Arnaldo de Godoi to strike the kick off in the second half. After a defensive mix-up in Heraclito AD's zone, Amílton Sá stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Simão Vale came out of the goal and Amílton Sá tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After a rather tough play, Hugos Arts Club's Gláuber Secco got a free kick in the 64th minute. After recieving a nice pass, Heraclito AD's Luisinho Prado tried to score from far away in the 65th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. Simão Vale made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Arnaldo de Godoi in the 72nd minute of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 76th minute, Luís Eduardo Jacinto managed to get in a good position for a shot. Heraclito AD's supporters rose to their feet, but Luís Eduardo Jacinto was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Adrianinho Vander breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After 80 minutes of play, Hugos Arts Club's Amílton Sá made it 0-3 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Simão Vale was left in no man's land by his defense there! Arnaldo de Godoi sent away a hard shot on goal in the 85th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Heraclito AD's Simão Vale played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Arnaldo de Godoi in the 87th minute of play. Amílton Sá might have been able to make a better finish in the 89th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Simão Vale. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Amílton Sá ran back to his position shaking his head. The supporters of Hugos Arts Club booed when Heraclito AD was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 90 match minutes in a wonderful position. Christian Damião didn't get a good kick on the ball. Amílton Sá struck a weak shot in the 91st minute. Simão Vale didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Hugos Arts Club. Hugos Arts Club's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
