Vágner Bezerra started the match with the kick off. Victor Simões made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Felipe Palmeira in the 6th minute of play. 7 minutes into the match, Christiano Santana notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of Dragão Carioca FC's Victor Simões. Victor Simões was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Victor Simões showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Felipe Palmeira, who was totally free with the ball in the 10th minute. 11 minutes into the game, Jonathan Camargo was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Dragão Carioca FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Imbuial the free kick. In the 11th match minute, Dragão Carioca FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jonathan Camargo to maneuver through the defense. Victor Simões showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Felipe Palmeira, who was totally free with the ball in the 15th minute. 18 minutes into the match, Dragão Carioca FC's goal looked a bit too open when Felipe Palmeira came free, but Victor Simões reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Victor Simões took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Dinei Rocha, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Victor Simões showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Felipe Palmeira in the 25th minute of the match. Dragão Carioca FC's Victor Simões played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Christiano Santana in the 27th minute of play. Ricardinho de Lima sent away a hard shot on goal in the 31st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Válter de Salles fired away a difficult shot at goal in the 33rd minute. He almost succeeded, but the ball went over. It was a very nice shot. After a rather tough play, Imbuial's Tales Linares got a free kick in the 36th minute. In the 42nd minute Dinei Rocha shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Victor Simões saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Dinei Rocha hit a great freekick 44 minutes into the match. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

Felipe Palmeira's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Victor Simões firmly grabbed it by the left post. In the 53rd minute Christiano Santana shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Victor Simões saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Ricardinho de Lima fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 61st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Adhemar Soeiro having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Christiano Santana in the 67th minute of play forced Dragão Carioca FC's goalkeeper Victor Simões to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Victor Simões came out of the goal in the 69th minute to try and stop a shot by Imbuial's Miguel Martins. But to his dismay, Miguel Martins quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-2. 72 minutes into the game, Christiano Santana recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Victor Simões. Christiano Santana showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 0-3. 77 minutes into the match, Dragão Carioca FC's goal looked a bit too open when Dinei Rocha came free, but Victor Simões reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 86th minute Christiano Santana shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Victor Simões saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 93 played minutes Dragão Carioca FC got a freekick which was hit by Tiaguinho Bastos. 95 minutes into the match, Imbuial's Tales Linares sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Victor Simões narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Felipe Palmeira could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 96th minute of the match, but Victor Simões made a huge save. The Dragão Carioca FC fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Imbuial were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
