Mimosos's Luís Bezerra proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 10th minute of the match, managed to save Mimosos from getting a goal against them. Almir Sabóia scored 1-1 in the 13th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Adrianinho Vander, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Gaston Balesio might have been able to make a better finish in the 16th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Adrianinho Vander. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Gaston Balesio ran back to his position shaking his head. Adrianinho Vander showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Almir Sabóia in the 19th minute of the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 21st minute, Gaston Balesio managed to get in a good position for a shot. Mimosos's supporters rose to their feet, but Gaston Balesio was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Adrianinho Vander breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Mimosos's Luís Bezerra played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Arnaldo de Godoi in the 24th minute of play. Adrianinho Vander showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Almir Sabóia, who was totally free with the ball in the 26th minute. Almir Sabóia might have been able to make a better finish in the 27th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Adrianinho Vander. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Almir Sabóia ran back to his position shaking his head. Almir Sabóia sent away a hard shot on goal in the 33rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Gaston Balesio in the 37th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Adrianinho Vander prevented the ball from getting in the gole. The referee ignored Hugos Arts Club's protests and gave Kléber Almeida a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Mimosos booed when Hugos Arts Club was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 38 match minutes in a wonderful position. Kléber Almeida didn't get a good kick on the ball. Adrianinho Vander showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gaston Balesio in the 41st minute of the match. Hugos Arts Club's Adrianinho Vander played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gaston Balesio in the 42nd minute of play. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

The wind increased when Arnaldo de Godoi made the kick off in the second half. In the 52ndth minute of the game Arnaldo de Godoi who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Mimosos's Luís Bezerra was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Luís Bezerra took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Amílton Sá, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a rather tough play, Hugos Arts Club's Sílvio Saraiva got a free kick in the 56th minute. Adrianinho Vander took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Almir Sabóia, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After having played for 60 minutes, Almir Sabóia managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Mimosos's supporters crossed their fingers, but Almir Sabóia was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Arnaldo de Godoi in the 75th minute of play forced Mimosos's goalkeeper Luís Bezerra to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Sílvio Saraiva might have been able to make a better finish in the 77th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Luís Bezerra. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Sílvio Saraiva ran back to his position shaking his head. Aníbal Bittencourt's late challenge caught a Hugos Arts Club's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Aníbal Bittencourt helped the player get up and apologised. Arnaldo de Godoi recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 85th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 87th minute Amílton Sá shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Luís Bezerra saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 93 played minutes Mimosos got a freekick which was hit by Aníbal Bittencourt. Patrick Hoffmann was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 94th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Hugos Arts Club fans cheered their team off the field, for while Mimosos had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
