In the 9th minute, Bruninho Prata hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Jonas Arantes showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cristiano Moura, who was totally free with the ball in the 11th minute. In the 13th minute, Cristiano Moura left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Massambara fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. Massambara's defense didn't have a chance, in the 17th minute, when Ricardinho Hermes scored to the left of an out of position Duda Almeida, making the score, 1-1. If Luizinho Loureiro had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 21st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Jonas Arantes made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cristiano Moura in the 22nd minute of play. 28 minutes into the match, Gutierri FC's Ricardinho Hermes sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Duda Almeida narrowly saved just below the crossbar. 29 minutes into the match, Massambara's goalkeeper Duda Almeida had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Raphael Lago. Raphael Lago fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 31st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Duda Almeida having to interfere. Luizinho Loureiro fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 35th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jonas Arantes having to interfere. 37 minutes into the match, Gutierri FC's goal looked a bit too open when Cristiano Moura came free, but Jonas Arantes reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Jonas Arantes made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cristiano Moura in the 39th minute of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Raphael Lago got free with Duda Almeida in the 40th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After 44 minutes of play, Gutierri FC's Raphael Lago made it 2-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Duda Almeida was left in no man's land by his defense there! The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-1.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Cristiano Moura made a kick off. Cristiano Moura recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 51st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After a defensive mix-up in Massambara's zone, Raphael Lago stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Duda Almeida came out of the goal and Raphael Lago tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. If Ricardinho Hermes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 58th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Almir Mello's late challenge caught a Massambara's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Almir Mello helped the player get up and apologised. In the 63rd minute, Almir Mello hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After recieving a nice pass, Massambara's Telmo Vargas tried to score from far away in the 64th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. In the 66th minute, Cristiano Moura hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Bruninho Prata hit a great freekick 77 minutes into the match. In the 83rdth minute of the game Raphael Lago who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Massambara's Duda Almeida was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Jonas Arantes made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cristiano Moura in the 85th minute of play. If Cristiano Moura had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 87th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Ricardinho Hermes in the 89th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Duda Almeida saved Massambara from getting behind. Raphael Lago received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 90th minute. Duda Almeida tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 92nd minute, Raphael Lago got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. When Ricardinho Hermes came up free with the goalie in the 94th minute, the Gutierri FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Ricardinho Hermes couldn't finish the play. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. Gutierri FC had played much better football throughout.
