The supporters of Nacional Futebol Clube booed when Areinhas was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 5 match minutes in a wonderful position. Luís Guilherme Corrêa didn't get a good kick on the ball. 6 minutes into the match, Didi Tepedino dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Osvaldinho Fontes, 1-0. Igor Araújo didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Dário Borges went, in the 12th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-1 was the resulting score. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Luís Guilherme Corrêa in the 16th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Igor Araújo prevented the ball from getting in the gole. When Kléberson Araújo fell near the penalty area in the 20th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Nacional Futebol Clube's protests and gave Kléberson Araújo a yellow card for diving instead. After a rather tough play, Nacional Futebol Clube's Kléberson Araújo got a free kick in the 20th minute. Ulisses Tepedino hit a great freekick 25 minutes into the match. Nicolas Sampaio might have been able to make a better finish in the 27th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Igor Araújo. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Nicolas Sampaio ran back to his position shaking his head. Dário Borges's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Igor Araújo read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 29th minute of play. In the 31st match minute, Nacional Futebol Clube was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by João Francisco Galvão to maneuver through the defense. Areinhas's Nicolas Sampaio got a good chance for a goal in the 34th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. If Luís Guilherme Azevedo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 37th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 46th minute, Dário Borges ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Igor Araújo was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-2. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Dário Borges stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After a rather tough play, Nacional Futebol Clube's Gualter Cordeiro got a free kick in the 54th minute. Didi Lucas charged in rather forcefully in the 59th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Didi Lucas the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to Areinhas getting a freekick after 59 minutes play. Didi Lucas hit a great ball. After 60 minutes of play, Nacional Futebol Clube's Clemente Lopez made it 2-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Osvaldinho Fontes was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the 63rd minute, Ulisses Tepedino hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Osvaldinho Fontes took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Didi Tepedino, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Osvaldinho Fontes stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Clemente Lopez's shot from short distance in the 66th minute. Igor Araújo came out of the goal in the 71st minute to try and stop a shot by Areinhas's Dário Borges. But to his dismay, Dário Borges quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-3. A hard shot 76 in the game by Nicolas Sampaio from a close distance when the talented Igor Araújo managed to make a qualified save. Nacional Futebol Clube's players were relieved. If Clemente Lopez had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 78th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 84th minute Clemente Lopez shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Osvaldinho Fontes saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Osvaldinho Fontes showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Clemente Lopez in the 92nd minute of the match. 96 minutes into the game, Gabriel Sabóia was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Areinhas's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Nacional Futebol Clube the free kick.
