After a defensive mix-up in Coiotes Club MZ's zone, Carlos Cabral stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Deivid Paraense came out of the goal and Carlos Cabral tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 4th match minute, Lapa was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Claudinei Lucas to maneuver through the defense. In the 5th minute, Ricardo Vargas sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Lapa's Sérgio Urbano didn't even have to move. Claudinei Lucas hit a great freekick 6 minutes into the match. Luiz Fernando Oliveira fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 9th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Sérgio Urbano having to interfere. Carlos Cabral fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 15th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Deivid Paraense having to interfere. Dorival Silveira received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 18th minute. Deivid Paraense tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Sérgio Urbano showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gilvan Quadros in the 21st minute of the match. In the 24th match minute, Lapa was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Agnaldo Cearense to maneuver through the defense. Gilvan Quadros received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 26th minute. Sérgio Urbano tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 31 played minutes Coiotes Club MZ got a freekick which was hit by Cristóvão Cardoso. Carlos Cabral struck a weak shot in the 32nd minute. Deivid Paraense didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Lapa. If Luiz Fernando Oliveira had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 34th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Carlos Cabral fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 37th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Deivid Paraense having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Lapa's Edu Marquez got a free kick in the 40th minute. Sérgio Urbano made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Luiz Fernando Oliveira in the 45th minute of play. The supporters of Coiotes Club MZ booed when Lapa was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 46 match minutes in a wonderful position. Claudinei Lucas didn't get a good kick on the ball. Luiz Fernando Oliveira fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 48th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Sérgio Urbano having to interfere. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Carlos Cabral stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Carlos Cabral hit a great freekick 56 minutes into the match. Sérgio Urbano took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Luiz Fernando Oliveira, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Luiz Fernando Oliveira in the 59th minute of play forced Lapa's goalkeeper Sérgio Urbano to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 60 played minutes Lapa got a freekick which was hit by Jeferson Prata. Lapa's Edu Marquez got a good chance for a goal in the 66th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Sérgio Urbano made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Severino Guedes in the 68th minute of play. In the 71st minute, Cristóvão Cardoso hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. An unexpectedly hard shot by Carlos Cabral in the 73rd minute of play forced Coiotes Club MZ's goalkeeper Deivid Paraense to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 76th minute the ball was on its way in behind Coiotes Club MZ's goalkeeper Deivid Paraense, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. The supporters of Lapa booed when Coiotes Club MZ was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 78 match minutes in a wonderful position. Severino Guedes didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 84th minute of the match, José Pedro Cardozo got a very nice opportunity to score, but Deivid Paraense was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. Carlos Cabral's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 85thth minute, Deivid Paraense skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. When Edu Marquez came up free with the goalie in the 86th minute, the Lapa fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Edu Marquez couldn't finish the play. After some fancy dribbling in the 91st minute, Carlos Cabral managed to get in a good position for a shot. Lapa's supporters rose to their feet, but Carlos Cabral was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Deivid Paraense breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Dorival Silveira fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 92nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Deivid Paraense having to interfere. Lapa's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
