After some fancy dribbling in the 32nd minute, Márcio Braga managed to get in a good position for a shot. Democratico F.C.'s supporters rose to their feet, but Márcio Braga was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Dedê Netto breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Hélio Eger fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 34th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dedê Netto having to interfere. The audience thought a goal was coming when Márcio Braga got free with Dedê Netto in the 36th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Jerônimo Barros didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from William Trancoso went, in the 48th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-1 was the resulting score. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Tri Mundial MZC eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
