Mário Rocha showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Adalberto Lago in the 8th minute of the match. 12 minutes into the match, Rasteira's Acácio Arósio sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Luís Fernando Soares narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Rafinha Rocha's late challenge caught a Rasteira's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Rafinha Rocha helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to Dragão Carioca F. C. getting a freekick after 12 minutes play. Rafinha Rocha hit a great ball. If Washington Terra had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 17th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Mário Rocha came out of the goal in the 21st minute to try and stop a shot by Dragão Carioca F. C.'s Válter Massa. But to his dismay, Válter Massa quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-0. After 23 played minutes Dragão Carioca F. C. got a freekick which was hit by Oséias Pena. Washington Terra took the ball and in the 30 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Luís Fernando Soares. Luís Fernando Soares dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-1. Válter Massa in the 34thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Mário Rocha, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Décio Lima's late challenge caught a Dragão Carioca F. C.'s player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Décio Lima helped the player get up and apologised. In the 38th match minute, Rasteira was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Afonso Palmeira to maneuver through the defense. In the 39th minute, Válter Massa made a precise shot to the right of Mário Rocha. Rasteira's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-1. Válter Massa could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 44th minute of the match, but Mário Rocha made a huge save. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-1 at half-time.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Adalberto Lago made a kick off. 53 minutes into the match, Rasteira's goal looked a bit too open when Adalberto Lago came free, but Mário Rocha reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Adalberto Lago fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 55th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Mário Rocha having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 58th minute, Washington Terra managed to get in a good position for a shot. Rasteira's supporters rose to their feet, but Washington Terra was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Luís Fernando Soares breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Mário Rocha made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Válter Massa in the 61st minute of play. Mário Rocha stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Adalberto Lago's shot from short distance in the 69th minute. The supporters of Dragão Carioca F. C. booed when Rasteira was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 69 match minutes in a wonderful position. Décio Lima didn't get a good kick on the ball. Mário Rocha stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Válter Massa's shot from short distance in the 75th minute. Narciso Sá kicked well hit freekick during the 77th minute of the match. Anselmo Mandrak sent away a hard shot on goal in the 79th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Anselmo Mandrak's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Mário Rocha read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 79th minute of play. Dragão Carioca F. C. walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
