After some fancy dribbling in the 18th minute, Manuel Dias managed to get in a good position for a shot. Vasco da Gama Clube's supporters rose to their feet, but Manuel Dias was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Elano Cabral breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 19th minute the ball was on its way in behind The Joker's goalkeeper Elano Cabral, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Leonel Moreira during the 25th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 25th minute, Leonel Moreira hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. An unexpected shot in the 27th minute by Rubens de Andrade got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. João de Toledo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 34th minute. Régis Moreira tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 37 minutes, Rubens de Andrade mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the The Joker and the Vasco da Gama Clube players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 38thth minute of the game Manuel Dias who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but The Joker's Elano Cabral was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Manuel Dias recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 39th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After 41 minutes, Amadeu Maciel made it 0-2 with a short kick to the right side. The Joker's Elano Cabral tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Vasco da Gama Clube's Amadeu Maciel got a good chance for a goal in the 44th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 45th match minute, The Joker was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Sandrinho Pitta to maneuver through the defense.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and João de Toledo made a kick off. Manuel Dias sent away a hard shot on goal in the 53rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Váldson Coelho hit a great freekick 55 minutes into the match. Fiori Rocha, 56 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Rogério Corrêa hit a great freekick 64 minutes into the match. After recieving a nice pass, Vasco da Gama Clube's Fiori Rocha tried to score from far away in the 65th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Manuel Dias in the 68th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Elano Cabral prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 69th minute, Vasco da Gama Clube's Amadeu Maciel ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Elano Cabral. Elano Cabral yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 0-3. In the 75th minute, Manuel Dias left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Vasco da Gama Clube fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-4. The audience thought a goal was coming when Amadeu Maciel got free with Elano Cabral in the 80th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. An unexpected shot in the 82nd minute by Amadeu Maciel got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. Manuel Dias sent away a hard shot on goal in the 84th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The Joker's Elano Cabral proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 89th minute of the match, managed to save The Joker from getting a goal against them. After a rather tough play, The Joker's Váldson Coelho got a free kick in the 92nd minute. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Manuel Dias in the 96th minute a chance for a shot on goal. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
