Glauco Aguiar fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 9th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Francisco Cearense having to interfere. 11 minutes into the game, Marquinhos Galvão was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. United Foxes's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Jales FC the free kick. In a very dangerous position, a player in United Foxes fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 11th minute. Penalty! The referee gave Jales FC a penalty, 12 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Tales Miranda, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of United Foxes's Francisco Cearense. 0-1. The crowd rose to their feet as Gernando da Costa kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Aílton Cardozo. That made the score 1-1 in the 24 minute of play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by José de Alcântara during the 32nd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of United Foxes booed when Jales FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 32 match minutes in a wonderful position. José de Alcântara didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 33rd minute, João Francisco Ramos sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Jales FC's Aílton Cardozo didn't even have to move. Aílton Cardozo made an important save on a dangerous shot by Gernando da Costa in the 44th minute. A collision led to Jales FC getting a freekick after 45 minutes play. Fabiano de Carvalho hit a great ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 47th minute, Gernando da Costa managed to get in a good position for a shot. United Foxes's supporters rose to their feet, but Gernando da Costa was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Aílton Cardozo breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

Francisco Cearense showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jânio Trevisan, who was totally free with the ball in the 59th minute. Aílton Cardozo stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of João Pedro Rocha's shot from short distance in the 63rd minute. In the 69th minute, Jânio Trevisan left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Jales FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-2. Aílton Cardozo stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of João Pedro Rocha's shot from short distance in the 75th minute. After having played for 79 minutes, Glauco Aguiar managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Jales FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Glauco Aguiar was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Francisco Cearense showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jânio Trevisan, who was totally free with the ball in the 80th minute. João Pedro Rocha recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 84th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. If Gernando da Costa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 87th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. 93 minutes into the match, Jales FC's goal looked a bit too open when Gernando da Costa came free, but Aílton Cardozo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The Jales FC players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
