When the match had gone on for 8 minutes, Gualter Perez took a quick shot and it went in 1-0 without a chance for Francisco Cearense to make any attempt to save it. Kléberson Toledo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from João Pedro Rocha, who was totally free with the ball in the 13th minute. Gernando da Costa sent away a hard shot on goal in the 14th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Gualter Perez received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 18th minute. Francisco Cearense tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Gernando da Costa recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 20th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. A collision led to United Foxes getting a freekick after 23 minutes play. Willian Félix hit a great ball. Gualter Perez received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 26th minute. Francisco Cearense tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Pedro Luís Brasil who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 30thth minute tested the skills of Francisco Cearense when he managed to save the team from getting behind. 33 minutes into the match, João Pedro Rocha had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Kléberson Toledo. Tafu FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that João Pedro Rocha was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-2. Francisco Cearense showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gualter Perez, who was totally free with the ball in the 39th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by João Pedro Rocha in the 45th minute of play forced Tafu FC's goalkeeper Kléberson Toledo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Gualter Perez to make the kick off. Kléberson Toledo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from João Pedro Rocha, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by João Pedro Rocha in the 57th minute of play forced Tafu FC's goalkeeper Kléberson Toledo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. João Pedro Rocha struck a weak shot in the 59th minute. Kléberson Toledo didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for United Foxes. In the 65th minute, Angelo Eger hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 66th minute of the match João Francisco Ramos sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Kléberson Toledo skillfully saved the ball. After having played for 69 minutes, Pedro Luís Brasil managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Tafu FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Pedro Luís Brasil was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Kléberson Toledo made an important save on a dangerous shot by Gernando da Costa in the 73rd minute. In the 77th minute Pedro Luís Brasil shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Francisco Cearense saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Francisco Cearense showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gualter Perez in the 78th minute of the match. 81 minutes into the match, Tafu FC's goalkeeper Kléberson Toledo had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Gernando da Costa. Kléberson Toledo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from João Pedro Rocha in the 83rd minute of play. Pedro Luís Brasil sent away a hard shot on goal in the 93rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Gualter Perez struck a weak shot in the 95th minute. Francisco Cearense didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Tafu FC. The United Foxes supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing United Foxes would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
