Hernani Jacinto recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 9th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. José Augusto Tasso in the 11thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Nico Zonta, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. José Augusto Tassos short, quick shot in the 14thth minute got Nico Zonta to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. José Augusto Tasso fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 15th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Nico Zonta having to interfere. With an all-out effort, S.E Salvador's Nico Zonta threw himself towards the right post 17 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Hernani Jacinto, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. In the 21st minute, Donato Peres hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When Leandro Dionísio came up free with the goalie in the 34th minute, the ZÜÖ ÖÜZ fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Leandro Dionísio couldn't finish the play. S.E Salvador's Frank Eger played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Leandro Dionísio in the 36th minute of play. After 43 played minutes ZÜÖ ÖÜZ got a freekick which was hit by Jânio Figueiredo. José Augusto Tasso received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 44th minute. Nico Zonta tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Jânio Figueiredo during the 46th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of S.E Salvador booed when ZÜÖ ÖÜZ was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 46 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jânio Figueiredo didn't get a good kick on the ball. ZÜÖ ÖÜZ's goalkeeper couldn't reach when José Augusto Tasso 47 minutes into the game got a good kick on the ball which found its way into goal just inside left pole. 1-1. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

In the 56th minute S.E Salvador were awarded a corner. Hortêncio Bastos went to the cornerflag to take it. S.E Salvador's Hortêncio Bastos was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Nico Zonta in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. When Hernani Jacinto came up free with the goalie in the 58th minute, the S.E Salvador fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Hernani Jacinto couldn't finish the play. José Augusto Tasso sent away a hard shot on goal in the 62nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. With a little luck, S.E Salvador's Frank Eger got control of the ball when Rubens Tepedino tried to sneak it across the goal line. Nico Zonta made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Hernani Jacinto in the 73rd minute of play. After a rather tough play, ZÜÖ ÖÜZ's Jonas da Fonseca got a free kick in the 74th minute. 77 minutes into the match, ZÜÖ ÖÜZ's goal looked a bit too open when José Augusto Tasso came free, but Nico Zonta reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Frank Eger made an important save on a dangerous shot by Rubens Tepedino in the 82nd minute. Cléberson Souza charged in rather forcefully in the 83rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Cléberson Souza the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After some fancy dribbling in the 98th minute, José Augusto Tasso managed to get in a good position for a shot. S.E Salvador's supporters rose to their feet, but José Augusto Tasso was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Nico Zonta breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The second half was just like the first, even and exciting. The match ended in a draw.
