After some fancy dribbling in the 5th minute, Alexsandro Jacinto managed to get in a good position for a shot. Capalazia's supporters rose to their feet, but Alexsandro Jacinto was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Wanderson Freire breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Wanderson Freire was out of position in the 19 minute of play, and Alexsandro Jacinto capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. When Ademar Leme fell near the penalty area in the 29th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Capalazia's protests and gave Ademar Leme a yellow card for diving instead. Fiori Castro fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 32nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Wanderson Freire having to interfere. SaoPauloFC's Raimundo Sá got a good chance for a goal in the 36th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Edinho Furlan made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Giuseppe Prata in the 44th minute of play. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Edinho Furlan came out and tried to block the shot, but Afonsinho Cosme slotted it home off the left post making it 1-3 in the 58th minute. Giuseppe Prata received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 68th minute. Edinho Furlan tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. A hard shot 69 in the game by Afonsinho Cosme from a close distance when the talented Edinho Furlan managed to make a qualified save. Capalazia's players were relieved. Capalazia's Edinho Furlan proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 75th minute of the match, managed to save Capalazia from getting a goal against them. Silvinho Vale sent away a hard shot on goal in the 76th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. With a little luck, Capalazia's Edinho Furlan got control of the ball when Afonsinho Cosme tried to sneak it across the goal line. When Fiori Castro came up free with the goalie in the 78th minute, the Capalazia fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Fiori Castro couldn't finish the play. Capalazia's Edinho Furlan proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 82nd minute of the match, managed to save Capalazia from getting a goal against them. Capalazia's Nico de Andrade got his second yellow card of the match in the 83rd minute. The referee ordered Nico de Andrade off the ground. The supporters of SaoPauloFC booed when Capalazia was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 84 match minutes in a wonderful position. Nico de Andrade didn't get a good kick on the ball. Fiori Castro kicked well hit freekick during the 95th minute of the match. SaoPauloFC's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
