In the 8thth minute of the game Giuseppe Prata who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but S.E Salvador's Frank Eger was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Wanderson Freire was a little too slow when Hernani Jacinto got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 11th minute. The score was now 1-0. Afonsinho Cosme fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 15th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Frank Eger having to interfere. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Afonsinho Cosme in the 18th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Frank Eger saved S.E Salvador from getting behind. When Nelsinho Monteiro fell near the penalty area in the 18th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored S.E Salvador's protests and gave Nelsinho Monteiro a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to S.E Salvador getting a freekick after 19 minutes play. Nelsinho Monteiro hit a great ball. Paulão Senna lost his temper 23 minutes into the game and shoved another player to the ground. He was immediately shown a red card. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 22nd minute of the game. One of SaoPauloFC:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of S.E Salvador:s goal. When the match had been going on for 25 minutes, S.E Salvador's Hortêncio Bastos got an opportunity to shoot a penalty. He stayed cool and waited for the goalkeeper to move, before he confidently shot the ball into the goal, to the left of Wanderson Freire. 29 minutes into the game, Giuseppe Prata was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. SaoPauloFC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave S.E Salvador the free kick. In the 29th minute, Giuseppe Prata hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Moisés Fantini during the 31st minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After a rather tough play, SaoPauloFC's Moisés Fantini got a free kick in the 31st minute. When S.E Salvador's Hernani Jacinto in the 32nd minute got a chance for a shot 32nd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye SaoPauloFC's goalie prevented a goal. Adilson das Neves recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 36th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 38 minutes into the match, S.E Salvador's goal looked a bit too open when Silvinho Vale came free, but Frank Eger reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 39th minute, Silvinho Vale ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Frank Eger was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-1. 43 minutes into the game, SaoPauloFC's Giuseppe Prata nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Frank Eger made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-2. Giuseppe Prata scored 2-3 in the 46th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Frank Eger, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Disappointed in the 2-3 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Giuseppe Prata was the one to do the kick off. A collision led to SaoPauloFC getting a freekick after 52 minutes play. Silvinho Vale hit a great ball. SaoPauloFC's Wanderson Freire played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by José Augusto Tasso in the 53rd minute of play. In the 55th minute, SaoPauloFC's Moisés Fantini ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Frank Eger. Frank Eger yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 2-4. Raimundo Sá fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 64th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Frank Eger having to interfere. If Hernani Jacinto had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 66th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 70th minute, Silvinho Vale got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 76 minutes into the match, SaoPauloFC's Moisés Fantini sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Frank Eger narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Moisés Fantini blasted a shot towards the goal in the 79th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Frank Eger having to make a save. 82 minutes into the match, S.E Salvador's goal looked a bit too open when Giuseppe Prata came free, but Frank Eger reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 84 minutes into the match, Silvinho Vale notched a goal, 2-5, to the right of S.E Salvador's Frank Eger. Frank Eger was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Raimundo Sá fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 87th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Frank Eger having to interfere. SaoPauloFC made a substitution. Fiori Martins replaced Caco Prestes. Giuseppe Prata struck a weak shot in the 89th minute. Frank Eger didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for SaoPauloFC. SaoPauloFC played a much better game than S.E Salvador and deserved their victory. The S.E Salvador players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
