The goalkeeper smacked the ball away after a great corner, but Hélio Recife advanced and headed the ball into goal, 4-2 in the 99th minute. Itapaje's supporters were dissatisfied at the end of the match because Real Flamengo had won, even though Itapaje had held more of the ball.
