Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Tião das Neves started the match with the kick off. The supporters of PQL F.C. booed when Mataruca was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 11 match minutes in a wonderful position. Benjamim de Souza didn't get a good kick on the ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Artur Capixaba in the 13th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Romário Torres prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Tião das Neves fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 15th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Tadeu Valle having to interfere. If Rui Peres had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 20th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Mataruca's Romário Torres played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Artur Capixaba in the 26th minute of play. Zeca Simões hit a great freekick 28 minutes into the match. In the 30th minute, Pedrinho Miranda hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The Mataruca fans' excitement grew in the 33rd match minute when Mataruca's Tião das Neves looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 1-0 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Cristian do Vale fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 50th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Tadeu Valle having to interfere. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Artur Capixaba stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. If Tião das Neves had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 54th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. If Cristian do Vale had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 56th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 61 minutes into the match, PQL F.C.'s goal looked a bit too open when Cristian do Vale came free, but Tadeu Valle reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 63 minutes had been played when some careless play by PQL F.C.'s defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Pedrinho Miranda was slow to take the kick. During this time Mataruca's players had a chance to rest. Mataruca's Pedrinho Miranda was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Tadeu Valle in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. After some fancy dribbling in the 64th minute, Tião das Neves managed to get in a good position for a shot. Mataruca's supporters rose to their feet, but Tião das Neves was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Tadeu Valle breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Tadeu Valle made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cristian do Vale in the 66th minute of play. Tião das Neves received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 70th minute. Tadeu Valle tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cristian do Vale in the 71st minute of play forced PQL F.C.'s goalkeeper Tadeu Valle to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 74th minute Cristian do Vale suffered a thigh injury and had to be helped off the field. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 74th minute of the game. One of PQL F.C.:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Mataruca:s goal. In the 77th minute there was a penalty for Mataruca. Pedrinho Miranda stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Tadeu Valle. 2-0. Pedrinho Miranda kicked well hit freekick during the 81st minute of the match. Rui Peres recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 82nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After a defensive mix-up in PQL F.C.'s zone, Tião das Neves stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Tadeu Valle came out of the goal and Tião das Neves tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Tião das Neves scored 3-0 in the 87th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Tadeu Valle, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Tião das Neves recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 96th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal.
