The Umburatiba AD fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Romário Nascimento should have stopped the shot. In the 12th minute Rubinho da Cunha shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Eugênio Quirino saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Adhemar Mello took the ball and in the 18 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Romário Nascimento. Romário Nascimento dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 3-0. After a rather tough play, Umburatiba AD's Hélio Varela got a free kick in the 21st minute. Eugênio Quirino showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Rubinho da Cunha in the 31st minute of the match. If Adhemar Mello had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 35th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 37 minutes into the match, Umburatiba AD's goal looked a bit too open when Romário Hermes came free, but Romário Nascimento reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 46 played minutes Umburatiba AD got a freekick which was hit by Ediberto Paulista.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Romário Hermes stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. When Caracituba's Adhemar Mello in the 52nd minute got a chance for a shot 52nd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. In the 78th play minute Durvalino Andrade came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Eugênio Quirino. 5-1. Umburatiba AD's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Caracituba the free kick. Hélio Varela kicked well hit freekick during the 83rd minute of the match. Romário Nascimento took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Celso Sanches, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Enio Machado had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 86th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Caracituba walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
