An unexpectedly hard shot by Pedro Paulo Meirelles in the 21st minute of play forced Tijuca F.C.'s goalkeeper Zé Pedro Vergílio to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 22nd match minute, Dedos Futebol Clube was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Adilson Aparecido to maneuver through the defense. After some careless play in the Tijuca F.C. defense, Duda Bueno kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Zé Pedro Vergílio. The Tijuca F.C. fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Zé Pedro Vergílio should have stopped the shot.

A collision led to Dedos Futebol Clube getting a freekick after 61 minutes play. Abelardo da Costa hit a great ball. In the 62nd minute, Henrique Diniz sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Dedos Futebol Clube's Sandro Barros didn't even have to move. If Pedro Paulo Meirelles had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 64th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Leonardo Viana in the 71st minute of play forced Dedos Futebol Clube's goalkeeper Sandro Barros to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 90 played minutes Dedos Futebol Clube got a freekick which was hit by Duda Bueno. Gualter Perez was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 93rd minute. Dedos Futebol Clube's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. Pedrinho Cerezo's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Sandro Barros read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 96th minute of play. 98 minutes into the match, Dedos Futebol Clube's goal looked a bit too open when Pedrinho Cerezo came free, but Sandro Barros reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.
