The crowd rose to their feet as Caracituba's Celso Sanches slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Teodoro Mattos. That made the score 1-0 after 5 minutes of play. The supporters of ESCOLHIDOS FOOT. CLUB booed when Caracituba was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 7 match minutes in a wonderful position. Celso Sanches didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 16th minute of the match, Celso Sanches got a very nice opportunity to score, but Teodoro Mattos was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. 19 minutes into the match, Romário Hermes had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Teodoro Mattos. ESCOLHIDOS FOOT. CLUB's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Romário Hermes was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-0. If Celso Sanches had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 25th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Teodoro Mattos was a little too slow when Adhemar Mello got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 34th minute. The score was now 3-0. 37 minutes into the match, ESCOLHIDOS FOOT. CLUB's goalkeeper Teodoro Mattos had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Túlio Arruda. ESCOLHIDOS FOOT. CLUB's Teodoro Mattos proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 40th minute of the match, managed to save ESCOLHIDOS FOOT. CLUB from getting a goal against them. In the 43rd minute the ball was on its way in behind ESCOLHIDOS FOOT. CLUB's goalkeeper Teodoro Mattos, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Romário Hermes to make the kick off. Celso Sanches received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 51st minute. Teodoro Mattos tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Hortêncio Dionísio hit a great freekick 57 minutes into the match. After a defensive mix-up in ESCOLHIDOS FOOT. CLUB's zone, Adhemar Mello stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Teodoro Mattos came out of the goal and Adhemar Mello tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Celso Sanches in the 63rd minute of play forced ESCOLHIDOS FOOT. CLUB's goalkeeper Teodoro Mattos to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Jorge Brasil could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 64th minute of the match, but Eugênio Quirino made a huge save. Teodoro Mattos made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Celso Sanches in the 71st minute of play. Adhemar Mello took the ball and in the 72 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Teodoro Mattos. Teodoro Mattos dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 4-0. In the 80th minute Romário Hermes shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Teodoro Mattos saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Adhemar Mello in the 81st minute of play forced ESCOLHIDOS FOOT. CLUB's goalkeeper Teodoro Mattos to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. CLUB's Teodoro Mattos played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Adhemar Mello in the 86th minute of play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Túlio Arruda during the 89th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After a rather tough play, Caracituba's Túlio Arruda got a free kick in the 89th minute. Teodoro Mattos made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Adhemar Mello in the 94th minute of play. 95 minutes into the game, Túlio Arruda cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 5-0. Teodoro Mattos was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in.
