With a little luck, Internacionale's Alexsandro Massa got control of the ball when Rafael Hoffmann tried to sneak it across the goal line. Zé Pedro Vergílio made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cauã Souto in the 17th minute of play. Pedrinho Cerezo blasted a shot towards the goal in the 20th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Alexsandro Massa having to make a save. Leonardo Viana received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Alexsandro Massa came out and tried to block the shot, but Leonardo Viana slotted it home off the left post making it 1-0 in the 20th minute. Cauã Souto fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 24th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Zé Pedro Vergílio having to interfere. When Tadeu Abajas came up free with the goalie in the 27th minute, the Internacionale fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Tadeu Abajas couldn't finish the play. In the 29th match minute, Tijuca F.C. was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Geovani Castro to maneuver through the defense. In the 33rd minute, Cauã Souto left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Internacionale fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-1. Zé Pedro Vergílio came out of the goal in the 38th minute to try and stop a shot by Internacionale's Cauã Souto. But to his dismay, Cauã Souto quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-2. 44 minutes into the match, Internacionale's Cauã Souto sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Zé Pedro Vergílio narrowly saved just below the crossbar. A collision led to Internacionale getting a freekick after 45 minutes play. Cauã Souto hit a great ball. Cauã Souto sent away a hard shot on goal in the 47th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The Tijuca F.C. players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Internacionale were winning 1-2.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Leonardo Viana to make the kick off. After a rather tough play, Internacionale's Luisinho Nogueira got a free kick in the 52nd minute. In the 53rd minute of the match Henrique Diniz sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Alexsandro Massa skillfully saved the ball. Tadeu Abajas received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 56th minute. Zé Pedro Vergílio tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Zé Pedro Vergílio made a fantastic save in the 62nd minute, when Cauã Souto sent off a good shot on target. Leonardo Viana recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 67th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Leonardo Viana sent away a hard shot on goal in the 72nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 75th minute Tadeu Abajas shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Zé Pedro Vergílio saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Tijuca F.C.'s Zé Pedro Vergílio proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 77th minute of the match, managed to save Tijuca F.C. from getting a goal against them. 81 minutes into the match, Internacionale's goal looked a bit too open when Leonardo Viana came free, but Alexsandro Massa reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After having played for 86 minutes, Tadeu Abajas managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Internacionale's supporters crossed their fingers, but Tadeu Abajas was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After a rather tough play, Tijuca F.C.'s Rafael Hoffmann got a free kick in the 87th minute. Tadeu Abajas sent away a hard shot on goal in the 90th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When the match was over Internacionale could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Tijuca F.C. throughout the match.
