Thomás Sarmento didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Falcão Bertassi went, in the 13th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-1 was the resulting score. The supporters of Goianesia booed when Audax Paulista was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 18 match minutes in a wonderful position. Luís Fabiano Fernandes didn't get a good kick on the ball. Rodolfo Monteiro made an important save on a dangerous shot by Falcão de Sena in the 22nd minute. Rodolfo Monteiro showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Falcão de Sena, who was totally free with the ball in the 24th minute. After having played for 39 minutes, Falcão de Sena managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Audax Paulista's supporters crossed their fingers, but Falcão de Sena was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Audax Paulista's Thomás Sarmento played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Reginaldo Sarmento in the 46th minute of play. Falcão de Sena received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 47th minute. Rodolfo Monteiro tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.

Rodolfo Monteiro breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Audax Paulista's Lúcio Eger managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by José Maria Neiva in the 69 minute of the game. Claudinho Goiano hit a great freekick 71 minutes into the match. Falcão Bertassi kicked well hit freekick during the 76th minute of the match. The supporters of Goianesia booed when Audax Paulista was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 78 match minutes in a wonderful position. Falcão de Sena didn't get a good kick on the ball.
