To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 11 minutes into the game, Guga de Salles cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Ernani Leme was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. If Jarbas Domingues had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 15th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Guga de Salles in the 17th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Ernani Leme saved Siriji from getting behind. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Baltazar de Carvalho in the 21st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Kiko Catarinense saved Campelo FC from getting behind. Guga de Salles struck a weak shot in the 22nd minute. Ernani Leme didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Campelo FC. 26 minutes into the match, Campelo FC's Guga de Salles sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Ernani Leme narrowly saved just below the crossbar. 29 minutes into the match, Campelo FC's goalkeeper Kiko Catarinense had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Guto Cordeiro.
