Oséias Barbosa showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Váldson Duarte, who was totally free with the ball in the 21st minute. After 23 minutes, Ezequiel Montenegro mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Hellcife FC and the Candeia players grew even worse after the yellow card. Patrick Travassos showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Válter Veloso in the 27th minute of the match. Candeia's Patrick Travassos played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Rogério Dantas in the 28th minute of play. Válter Veloso fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 29th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Patrick Travassos having to interfere. Carlos Alberto Prado received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 38th minute. Oséias Barbosa tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 41st minute, Ezequiel Montenegro hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Carlos Alberto Prado recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 43rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 48th minute of the match, Nuno Furtado tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Oséias Barbosa saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

In the 85th minute the ball was on its way in behind Hellcife FC's goalkeeper Oséias Barbosa, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Candeia's Patrick Travassos proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 86th minute of the match, managed to save Candeia from getting a goal against them. An unexpectedly hard shot by Váldson Duarte in the 88th minute of play forced Hellcife FC's goalkeeper Oséias Barbosa to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Cipriano Tasso had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 89th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Candeia's Carlos Alberto Prado in the 92nd minute got a chance for a shot 92nd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Hellcife FC's goalie prevented a goal. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Cipriano Tasso during the 94th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card.
