After a rather tough play, Nacional FC's Zeca Valadares got a free kick in the 16th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Richard Siqueira in the 24th minute of play forced Nacional FC's goalkeeper Enio Vinhas to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Enio Vinhas took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Richard Siqueira, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Didi Lopes struck a weak shot in the 27th minute. Reinaldo Tinoco didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Nacional FC. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Tiago Gabriel Tavares in the 29th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Reinaldo Tinoco prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 30 minutes into the game, Tiago Gabriel Tavares cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-1. Reinaldo Tinoco was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 36th match minute, Intersteam was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Tarcisio de Moraes to maneuver through the defense. Richard Siqueira recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 42nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The score stood at 1-1 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

Zé Roberto Leão took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 52nd minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Enio Vinhas. Nacional FC's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Richard Siqueira recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 58th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After 59 minutes of play, Intersteam's Luís Fabiano Prado made it 2-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Enio Vinhas was left in no man's land by his defense there! The supporters of Intersteam booed when Nacional FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 67 match minutes in a wonderful position. Tarcisio Catarinense didn't get a good kick on the ball. Enio Vinhas showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Luís Fabiano Prado in the 69th minute of the match. Didi Lopes took the ball and in the 73 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Reinaldo Tinoco. Reinaldo Tinoco dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-2. After a rather tough play, Nacional FC's Zeca Valadares got a free kick in the 76th minute. The audience was convinced that Luís Fabiano Prado's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Enio Vinhas was relentless in the 77th minute of the game. 77 minutes into the game, Tarcisio Catarinense was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Nacional FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Intersteam the free kick. With an all-out effort, Nacional FC's Reinaldo Tinoco threw himself towards the right post 80 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Tiago Gabriel Tavares, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. After 85 minutes, Luiz Fabiano Matorin mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Intersteam and the Nacional FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. Luiz Fabiano Matorin kicked well hit freekick during the 86th minute of the match. After 87 minutes of play, Nacional FC's Didi Lopes made it 2-3 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Reinaldo Tinoco was left in no man's land by his defense there! 91 minutes in the game, Didi Lopes fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Reinaldo Tinoco having to interfere. In the 92nd minute, Tiago Gabriel Alvarenga hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Didi Lopes blasted a shot towards the goal in the 96th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Reinaldo Tinoco having to make a save.
