With an extended leg and a bit of luck Delfim Tasso prevented the ball from getting in the gole. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Anísio de Brito during the 24th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of Esporte Clube Comercial booed when Perrexil SS was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 24 match minutes in a wonderful position. Anísio de Brito didn't get a good kick on the ball. Perrexil SS's supporters crossed their fingers, but Tomé Mangueira was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. A collision led to Esporte Clube Comercial getting a freekick after 54 minutes play. Régis Dracena hit a great ball. With a little luck, Esporte Clube Comercial's Marquinhos Vidal got control of the ball when Anísio de Brito tried to sneak it across the goal line. When Tomé Mangueira came up free with the goalie in the 61st minute, the Perrexil SS fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Tomé Mangueira couldn't finish the play.
