Spectators: 7248 (Terracing: 5437, Seating: 1667, VIP seats: 144) Young FC's Tostão Pombal started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Tostão Pombal blasted a shot towards the goal in the 4th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Acácio Varela having to make a save. Sassego's Acácio Varela played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Pedrinho Tepedino in the 7th minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in Sassego's zone, Joaquim Rocha stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Acácio Varela came out of the goal and Joaquim Rocha tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 12th minute, Pedrinho Tepedino managed to get in a good position for a shot. Young FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Pedrinho Tepedino was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Acácio Varela breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The audience thought a goal was coming when Dráusio Messias got free with Armandinho Freire in the 15th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. When Young FC's Tostão Pombal in the 16th minute got a chance for a shot 16th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Sassego's goalie prevented a goal. Armandinho Freire didn't succeed to prevent the ball from going into goal when Sassego's Dedê Trevisan shot an unexpected shot in the crossbar's under edge and made 1-0 in the ordered_time% minute. After 32 played minutes Sassego got a freekick which was hit by Willian da Costa. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Tostão Pombal in the 34th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Acácio Varela saved Sassego from getting behind. Joaquim Rocha's late challenge caught a Sassego's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Joaquim Rocha helped the player get up and apologised. Joaquim Rocha hit a great freekick 36 minutes into the match. After 39 minutes of play, Young FC's Andrézinho Pernambucano made it 1-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Acácio Varela was left in no man's land by his defense there! Pedrinho Tepedino received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 42nd minute. Acácio Varela tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 46 minutes, Dedê Trevisan mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Sassego and the Young FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 47th match minute, Sassego was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Dedê Trevisan to maneuver through the defense.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Dedê Trevisan to make the kick off. Willian da Costa charged in rather forcefully in the 51st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Willian da Costa the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to Sassego getting a freekick after 51 minutes play. Willian da Costa hit a great ball. 56 minutes into the match, Sassego's goal looked a bit too open when Andrézinho Pernambucano came free, but Acácio Varela reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Armandinho Freire showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Dedê Trevisan in the 58th minute of the match. In the 60th minute, Young FC's Tostão Pombal ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Acácio Varela. Acácio Varela yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-2. If Andrézinho Pernambucano had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 63rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Dráusio Messias charged in rather forcefully in the 64th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. An unexpectedly hard shot by Dedê Trevisan in the 73rd minute of play forced Young FC's goalkeeper Armandinho Freire to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 76th minute, Sassego's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Tostão Pombal fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. Acácio Varela made an important save on a dangerous shot by Pedrinho Tepedino in the 80th minute. With 82 minutes on the clock, Jorge Bueno commited a dangerous tackle. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. The referee gave Sassego a penalty, 84 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Adilson Berger, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Young FC's Armandinho Freire. 2-3. Armandinho Freire showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Dedê Trevisan in the 87th minute of the match. When the match had gone on for 89 minutes, Pedrinho Tepedino took a quick shot and it went in 2-4 without a chance for Acácio Varela to make any attempt to save it. Waldemar Paulista might have been able to make a better finish in the 93rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Acácio Varela. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Waldemar Paulista ran back to his position shaking his head. When the final whistle sounded Young FC left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Sassego.
