The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Teodoro de Godoi received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 4th minute. Cléberson Vieira tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Franklin Quintal recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 12th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Franklin Quintal in the 22nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Cléberson Vieira saved Zonzura from getting behind. Zonzura's Tarcisio Andrade got a good chance for a goal in the 29th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Teodoro Romero recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 31st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After 32 played minutes Mundeus got a freekick which was hit by Romeu Paulista. Délio Simões charged in rather forcefully in the 43rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Délio Simões the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Gugu Leme made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Tarcisio Andrade in the 44th minute of play. In the 45th minute Franklin Quintal shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Cléberson Vieira saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 47 minutes into the match, Zonzura's goal looked a bit too open when Teodoro de Godoi came free, but Cléberson Vieira reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The audience was convinced that Franklin Quintal's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Cléberson Vieira was relentless in the 48th minute of the game. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

Reinaldo Porto sent away a hard shot on goal in the 54th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Tarcisio Andrade had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 56th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Tarcisio Andrade struck a weak shot in the 61st minute. Gugu Leme didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Zonzura. A collision led to Mundeus getting a freekick after 70 minutes play. Romeu Paulista hit a great ball. After 73 played minutes Mundeus got a freekick which was hit by Romeu Paulista. Franklin Quintal sent away a hard shot on goal in the 76th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 80th minute, Teodoro Romero made a precise shot to the right of Gugu Leme. Mundeus's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-0. If Franklin Quintal had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 83rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Teodoro de Godoi struck a weak shot in the 85th minute. Cléberson Vieira didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Mundeus. Mundeus's Franklin Quintal got a good chance for a goal in the 90th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Zonzura's supporters were highly satisfied with the result. They cheered their team of the pitch, having watched them win a very even match.
