The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. After 5 played minutes Pulinopolis got a freekick which was hit by Giovanni Sena. After 15 minutes of play, SC Corinthians Paulista's Ismael Paiva made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Humberto Lara was left in no man's land by his defense there! Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Ismael Paiva in the 33rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Humberto Lara prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 34th minute the ball was on its way in behind Pulinopolis's goalkeeper Humberto Lara, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 37thth minute of the game Ismael Paiva who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Pulinopolis's Humberto Lara was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. When Paulo Renato Machado fell near the penalty area in the 41st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Pulinopolis's protests and gave Paulo Renato Machado a yellow card for diving instead. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The Pulinopolis players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. SC Corinthians Paulista were winning 0-2.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Pedrão Monteiro stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After 53 played minutes, SC Corinthians Paulista's Kiko Valladares shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Humberto Lara came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in SC Corinthians Paulista reached it. In the 77th minute, Gildo Varela got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 81st minute, Ismael Paiva managed to get in a good position for a shot. SC Corinthians Paulista's supporters rose to their feet, but Ismael Paiva was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Humberto Lara breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 83 minutes into the game, Ismael Paiva lined in a short shot 0-4 behind a frustrated Humberto Lara. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Ismael Paiva in the 88th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Humberto Lara prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Túlio Lopes blasted a shot towards the goal in the 89th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Humberto Lara having to make a save. When SC Corinthians Paulista's Ismael Paiva in the 96th minute got a chance for a shot 96th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Pulinopolis's goalie prevented a goal.
