Carlinhos Barbosa who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 40thth minute tested the skills of Luiz Fabiano Donatello when he managed to save the team from getting behind. An unexpectedly hard shot by Didi Cordeiro in the 42nd minute of play forced Intrepidoz's goalkeeper Cícero Cabral to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 43 minutes into the match, Intrepidoz's goal looked a bit too open when Didi Cordeiro came free, but Cícero Cabral reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Duarte Porto had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 47th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The score stood at 0-0 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Victor da Fonseca was the one to do the kick off. Duarte Porto showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 0-1. If Didi Cordeiro had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 82nd minute. São Paulo F.C.'s fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
