Cícero Cabral came out of the goal in the 45th minute to try and stop a shot by Apiacás Esporte Clube's Nelsinho Peres. But to his dismay, Nelsinho Peres quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-0. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-0.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Nelsinho Peres was the one to do the kick off. Apiacás Esporte Clube's Nelsinho Peres got a good chance for a goal in the 59th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Valério Cosme kicked well hit freekick during the 60th minute of the match. If Nelsinho Peres had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 63rd minute.
