The audience was convinced that Geovânio Rodrigues's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Luiz Fabiano Donatello was relentless in the 23rd minute of the game. Luiz Fabiano Donatello didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Geovânio Rodrigues went, in the 24th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. Rafael Schmidt showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Didi Cordeiro in the 75th minute of the match. 76 minutes into the match, Liga Palhocense's goal looked a bit too open when Cícero Azevedo came free, but Rafael Schmidt reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Geovânio Rodrigues had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 80th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The supporters of Liga Palhocense booed when São Paulo F.C. was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 91 match minutes in a wonderful position. Murilo Salgado didn't get a good kick on the ball. The São Paulo F.C. fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Liga Palhocense were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
