C's Diamantino Sarmento sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Rafinha Zonta narrowly saved just below the crossbar. If Diamantino Sarmento had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 5th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. 7 minutes into the game, FÊNIX F. C's Diamantino Sarmento nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Rafinha Zonta made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-0. After a rather tough play, Iguai FC's Mazinho Dionísio got a free kick in the 14th minute. Marcos Valladares took the ball and in the 15 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Rafinha Zonta. Rafinha Zonta dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-0. Diamantino Sarmento fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 19th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Rafinha Zonta having to interfere. Mazinho Dionísio kicked well hit freekick during the 24th minute of the match. In the 29th minute, Oséias França got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. If Tiago Pontes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 31st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Diamantino Sarmento succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 3-1 in the 37th playminute. After a defensive mix-up in FÊNIX F. C's zone, Tiago Pontes stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Bebeto Trancoso came out of the goal and Tiago Pontes tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 3-1.

After a rather tough play, Iguai FC's Marcelinho Cabral got a free kick in the 53rd minute. Diamantino Sarmento might have been able to make a better finish in the 55th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Rafinha Zonta. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Diamantino Sarmento ran back to his position shaking his head. Rafinha Zonta took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Marcos Valladares, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Diamantino Sarmento in the 62nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Rafinha Zonta prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After having played for 64 minutes, Oséias França managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Iguai FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Oséias França was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Iguai FC's Oséias França got a good chance for a goal in the 66th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Diamantino Sarmento sent away a hard shot on goal in the 68th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Diamantino Sarmento might have been able to make a better finish in the 72nd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Rafinha Zonta. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Diamantino Sarmento ran back to his position shaking his head. Rafinha Zonta stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Diamantino Sarmento's shot from short distance in the 73rd minute. Rafinha Zonta took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Marcos Valladares, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. A collision led to Iguai FC getting a freekick after 75 minutes play. Mazinho Dionísio hit a great ball. When Marcos Valladares came up free with the goalie in the 76th minute, the FÊNIX F. C fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Marcos Valladares couldn't finish the play. Tiago Pontes sent away a hard shot on goal in the 80th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a defensive mix-up in Iguai FC's zone, Cássio Duarte stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Rafinha Zonta came out of the goal and Cássio Duarte tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After 95 played minutes Iguai FC got a freekick which was hit by Marcelinho Cabral. After a defensive mix-up in Iguai FC's zone, Diamantino Sarmento stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Rafinha Zonta came out of the goal and Diamantino Sarmento tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. FÊNIX F. C's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
