Ciro Xavier could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 22nd minute of the match, but Frederik Rauen made a huge save. 36 minutes into the match, Labimec FC's goal looked a bit too open when Daniel Barros came free, but Bebeto Zonta reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Rômulo da Costa blasted a shot towards the goal in the 37th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Bebeto Zonta having to make a save. Esporte Clube Guaxinim's Telmo Alcântara got a good chance for a goal in the 42nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 44 minutes into the match, Labimec FC's goal looked a bit too open when Rômulo da Costa came free, but Bebeto Zonta reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Bebeto Zonta took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Telmo Alcântara, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Ezequiel Soeiro stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 53rd minute, Telmo Alcântara got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Bebeto Zonta stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Rômulo da Costa's shot from short distance in the 93rd minute. The Esporte Clube Guaxinim supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Esporte Clube Guaxinim would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
