In the 6th match minute, Simões F.C. was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Waldir Mineiro to maneuver through the defense. Joélson Paranaense showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Marcos Valladares in the 11th minute of the match. A collision led to FÊNIX F. C getting a freekick after 16 minutes play. Cássio Duarte hit a great ball. Bebeto Trancoso made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Christiano Coutinho in the 17th minute of play. Christiano Coutinho sent away a hard shot on goal in the 19th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. In the 22nd minute, Christiano Coutinho got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After 32 played minutes, FÊNIX F. C's Breno Freitas shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Joélson Paranaense came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in FÊNIX F. C reached it. Marcos Valladares sent away a hard shot on goal in the 35th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. A collision led to FÊNIX F. C getting a freekick after 38 minutes play. Cássio Duarte hit a great ball. After 41 minutes, Christiano Coutinho made it 0-1 with a short kick to the right side. FÊNIX F. C's Bebeto Trancoso tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Naldo Cearense's late challenge caught a FÊNIX F. C's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Naldo Cearense helped the player get up and apologised. After 45 played minutes Simões F.C. got a freekick which was hit by Naldo Cearense. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Marcos Valladares to strike the kick off in the second half. Joélson Paranaense showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Diamantino Sarmento, who was totally free with the ball in the 53rd minute. Marcos Valladares got in the 54th a clear chance and fired away a hard shot against goal, but Joélson Paranaense handled the situation perfectly and made a save by the crossbar. Simões F.C.'s Nando Mello got a good chance for a goal in the 58th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Diamantino Sarmento in the 60th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Joélson Paranaense prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Amílton Pontes hit a great freekick 60 minutes into the match. Joélson Paranaense didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Diamantino Sarmento went, in the 64th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-1 was the resulting score. Diamantino Sarmento fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 67th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Joélson Paranaense having to interfere. After a rather tough play, FÊNIX F. C's Elivélton Santos got a free kick in the 75th minute. Bebeto Trancoso had great luck who in the 77thth minute grab hold of the ball when Christiano Coutinho from a short distance tried to put the ball inside the right post. 78 minutes into the match, FÊNIX F. C's goalkeeper Bebeto Trancoso had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Nando Mello. Everyone was convinced a goal was close when Simões F.C.'s Christiano Coutinho in the 82nd minute lifted the ball towards the upper right corner, but Bebeto Trancoso was perfectly placed and prevented a goal for FÊNIX F. C through an amazing save. An unexpectedly hard shot by Diamantino Sarmento in the 90th minute of play forced Simões F.C.'s goalkeeper Joélson Paranaense to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Christiano Coutinho had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 93rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When the referee blew the final whistle, you could see the dissatisfaction in the Simões F.C. players' eyes. They were disappointed they hadn't taken more from the game.
