Spectators: 7000 (Terracing: 5500, Seating: 1500, VIP seats: 0) Bezerras SS's Murillo Simões started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. André Luiz Bueno's late challenge caught a Bezerras SS's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. In the 4th minute, Murillo Simões ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Tadeu Guedes was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. Bezerras SS's Raúl Velasco played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ricardo Arantes in the 11th minute of play. Antonio Mel received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 12th minute. Raúl Velasco tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Ricardo Arantes sent away a hard shot on goal in the 14th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 16th minute, Atlétic Mauhilay AD's Antonio Mel dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-1. Emílio Azevedo hit a great freekick 19 minutes into the match. Cafu Barral sent away a hard shot on goal in the 24th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 27th minute, Bezerras SS's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Cafu Barral fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. Ricardo Arantes recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 31st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The audience thought a goal was coming when Ricardo Arantes got free with Raúl Velasco in the 34th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Cafu Barral fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 36th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Raúl Velasco having to interfere. If Ricardo Arantes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 38th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Aírton Pinheiro sent away a hard shot on goal in the 40th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Antonio Mel stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Cafu Barral fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 52nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Raúl Velasco having to interfere. The audience thought a goal was coming when Artur Botelho got free with Tadeu Guedes in the 53rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Raúl Velasco took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cafu Barral, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 60th minute Cafu Barral shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Raúl Velasco saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. But to his dismay, Cafu Barral quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 3-1. When the match clock showed 88 minutes, the score became 4-1 when Cafu Barral sped through Bezerras SS's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Raúl Velasco. Antonio Mel struck a weak shot in the 92nd minute. Raúl Velasco didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Atlétic Mauhilay AD. Cafu Barral sent away a hard shot on goal in the 94th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a defensive mix-up in Bezerras SS's zone, Aírton Pinheiro stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Raúl Velasco came out of the goal and Aírton Pinheiro tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. There was no doubt that Atlétic Mauhilay AD were the better team. Atlétic Mauhilay AD's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
